If you’re over 40, you might be thinking more about what goes into your body. Here are some superfoods to get you started.
One is wild salmon.
Salmon boasts high levels of Vitamin D3, which aids weight loss, as well as protein, according to researchers.
Outpatient clinical dietitian Renee Cooper noted that salmon also contains omega-3 fatty acids, which may increase good cholesterol levels. Salmon also provides DHA, a particular type of omega-3 that supports brain health.
“It’s actually present at the nerve endings in our brain,” said Cooper, who works at University Hospitals in Ohio. “It’s important for cognitive behavior, memory and brain performance.”
Raspberries are another potent superfood, providing an impressive eight grams of fiber per cup.
