NBC has saved “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” after a huge uproar following the recent announcement that the comedy was being canceled.

A social media campaign to get another network to pick up the show went viral, with many users advocating. Fox announced the cancellation last week due to low ratings but a few days later, NBC announced that it would pick up the show for another season, its sixth.

NBC said that “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will have 13 episodes next season.

Its fifth season is set to end on May 20.

“Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home,” said Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment, reported Business Insider.

“We’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy lineup,” he said.
