At 101, Nick Calabrese is the oldest living former NYPD detective.
On Tuesday, May 15, the Detectives Endowment Association (NYCDEA) honored him, not only for his service in the police department, but also for his military service in the Army, Fox 5 reported.
Nick was born in 1917 in Greenwich Village and raised in the Bronx.
He joined the New York City transit police department in 1953 and retired in 1974.
“Congrats on your longevity and thanks for your service to this city and our country,” the Detectives Endowment Association said on Twitter.
