On Wednesday, May 16, reporters asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders if the summit between North Korea and the United States will still continue as planned.
It comes after Kim Jong Un threatened to pull out of the summit.
“Look, we are still hopeful that it takes place. We think that the same thing that we thought yesterday, that it’s an important conversation to have and it is something that we are hopeful that it does,” Sanders said.
When pressed further, Sanders continued.
“Again, we are hopeful that it takes place and we are going to continue moving forward,” she said. “If it happens it happens.”
