A picture of a college graduate carrying a rifle on her college’s campus has gone viral.
“Now that I graduated from Kent State, I can finally arm myself on campus. I should have been able to do so as a student- especially since 4 unarmed students were shot and killed by the government on this campus,” Kaitlin Bennett wrote in a Twitter post on May 13.
Kent State University has a policy against students, faculty, or other staff members carrying “deadly weapons,” which includes firearms, but a university spokesman said that the policy doesn’t apply to Bennett since she graduated.
He also noted that she notified the university before carrying a gun on campus.
